This be mah story, a horror filled story. Of Zombie proportions.

Hope ye enjoy.

-= The Fallen =-

The screech of wheels against the asphalt road echoed through the loud street. Rocks that were stuck to the tar were propelled into the cold air as the car attempted to pull a U turn. The car was a simple Nissan Skyline, which was dark blue with red racing stripes, that was being driven by a middle aged man. The reason for the sharp turn was the object at the end of the road, a blockade of cars. With a grunt the driver pushed down the hand break and turned again, so that he was facing the blockade. He was about thirty eight years of age, with short blonde hair, and tanned skin. He had gentle eyes, which showed no sign of what he was willing to commit to survive.

Looking through the rear-view mirror he noticed why he was driving so fast. A posse of about thirty men and women had appeared at the head of the road. Each and everyone was covered with blood and wounds, which had been delivered in the brutality which had started the hours before. The blockade was strongly built, and the posse was closing in quickly. They were running by the time the man decided what to do, and they were running pretty Beaver fast. He stomped on the gas pedal and shot off towards the blockades far left car.

His Skyline barely touched the busted up car as he ran over the sidewalk, and passed the blockade. Sparks flew off the sides of the cars as they scratched against a car, and a fence. After seconds of being trapped the car shot through, and was on the other side. The driver wiped sweat from his brow and headed off down the road, by now he had slowed down. The posse had stopped their chase, realizing that they couldn't catch the car.

----

Thats Chapter One. Hope you liked, feedback is wanted.

Thanks a bunch.

Leigh.

Chapter Two

About a mile away from the car was a house, now houses are everywhere in a town. But this house was different, a suburbian house. The infection had not yet hit this far away from the inner city, and the people were packing up and getting ready to leave. Inside this certain house sat a man, with a bottle of whiskey beneath his nose. He took swigs often, and seemed to be trying to drown in his misery. His wife was visible in the other room packing things up, while his two children put food into boxes.
"William, get up!" His wife screamed as she noticed him, this man was dressed in a Security Officers uniform. The Guard, William, put the bottle down and stood up. He pushed the chair back and looked at his kids.

"I have to stay, and help. Get outta here while you can." William said quietly, and slowly making sure that every word was pronounced clearly. His wife gave him a glare and grabbed the two children, leading them towards the car. William strolled calmly into his study and pulled open a drawer, which he had hidden a 9mm Beretta pistol. He picked it up and strolled to the porch as the signs of chaos became visible near the house. His car had gone, and down at the far end of the usually peaceful street a figure was sprinting towards him.

As it neared the torn clothes and skin on it became recognizable and the chunk of head that flapped on it showed the signs of conflict that had already taken place. One single gun shot rang out, and the running man seemed to let his legs go and slide across the floor. A small hole was visible on his forehead, while a large chunk was missing from behind his face. Blood formed a puddle beneath the body as William slid the Beretta into the holster on his belt.
"Looks like we're fighting in Hell tonight."

Chapter Three

Two hours had passed since the overall infection of the city, everyone was either hidden, hiding, dead, or one of them. The man from the Skyline was hidden inside the Suburbs, with another two people inside a small house. He sat beside a window and thought, outside screams of pain and suffering could be heard. His name was Jeff, formerly a Locksmith. With a grunt Jeff stood up, stretching and looking out the window. Nothing could be seen at this angle, and so he sat back down and continued to think.

Inside the house were also a young African man and a girl, his girlfriend it seemed. The two were always together in another room, leaving Jeff to ponder whether they were likely to ever get out of the Suburbs, and to somewhere safe. As he stood again to look out the window the atmosphere changed. The window exploded, sending a shower of glass onto Jeff as a girl followed the glass onto him. This girl was covered in blood, blood in her hair, blood on her face, blood on her arms. She had a deep bite in her throat, and various scratches across her face.

"Help!" Jeff roared as he clenched his fist and used his free hand to hold the girl under the jaw, keeping her mouth away from him. No help came, and after a few minutes it seemed Jeff was alone. He heaved the considerably smaller girl off himself, and into a mirror behind himself. He could hear other Infected approaching, and their wails for blood. Jeff looked at the girl who was climbing to her feet, and then to the mantle. An old looking rifle was fitted there, and he quickly snatched it up in his hands. He held the gun by the barrel and swung it towards the girl. With the first blow a torrent of blood bounded off her face and into the wall.

The second blow hit her in the neck, exactly where the bite was. Her head turned at an odd angle and a snap was heard. The body of the girl fell to its knees, and dropped face first into the rug beneath it. As Jeff turned, he saw another Infected climbing through the window. After a few minutes of searching Jeff found a small box, and snatched it up. With a quick check he was glad to see it was rifle ammo. Some good news in this hell.

Chapter Three Continued

Jeff was caught off guard when the door behind him was smashed in. Now he had a man climbing through the window, and four people coming in through the door. With a few swear words thrown around Jeff backed up to the stair case, while he reloaded the rifle. He recognized it as a Winchester. By now there was eight of the Infected in the house, and another two trying to get in the door. He lifted the rifle to his shoulder and aimed down the barrel at the Infected at the bottom of the stairs, seeing as he was nearly at the top by this time. He fired a shot, which was louder than he had expected, and watched as blood covered the wall beside the man as he fell.

He was soon on his feet though, but Jeff was already climbing to the attic at this time. As the Infected ran up the stairs and filled the landing the man and his girlfriend appeared. The man climbed through first as the Infected howled and ran towards the door. As the girl was pulled up the Infected grabbed at her legs, pulling her down into their group. She screamed, and thrashed about, and attempted to fight them off until Jeff slammed the trapdoor shut. The killing and tearing up of the girl could be heard all through the house, and after a while it stopped.

The African man was shuffling around in a box as Jeff sighed, soon they would be trying to get up. He turned to see the other man approaching, a heavy looking pipe in his hands.
"You let them get her!" He roared, swinging at Jeff. The pipe barely missed Jeff, and hit the ground hard. Without thinking the rifle was fired, and the large African man stumbled back, clutching his chest and gulping. Blood was all over him quickly, and seeping through the boards.
"Sorry..." Jeff squeaked as he gripped the rifle in his right hand and climbed through a window and out onto the roof. Somehow he needed to escape.

Chapter Four

It was nearly midnight when William stopped the truck he was in. Pulling into a side road and turning off the engine. He sat in silence for a minute, hidden in the darkness. He leant on the cold steering wheel and checked his watch. With a sleepy smile he took the weapon that was in the passenger seat. A Sawn-Off shotgun was all that he had with him, and a few shells scattered around the seat. He climbed out of the car and yawned, gripping the shotgun tightly in his hand. The long road he was on was completely deserted, with nothing but rocks and trees. He walked around to the back of the truck and pulled a bag out of the bed.

William walked off the road and towards a cabin that was visible in a clearing. In a few minutes he was there, pulling open the door and stepping inside. He was greeted with a long rifle barrel to his cheek, while a machete was pressed against his throat.
"Speak!" Growled a boy, the one with the rifle. Will glared at the boy and jabbed the barrel of the Sawn-Off into his throat.
"Do I look like one of them?" Will growled. The weapons were pulled away from him, and the cabin seemed slightly full. There was the boy with the rifle, a man with the machete, another man with a double-barreled shotgun, and a woman with a pistol.

The door was slammed shut and bolted up. A chair was pushed against it, making it almost impossible to open. The people went back to watching windows as Will dropped his bag on the floor.
"Where'd you need me?" Will asked, gripping the barrel of his Sawn-Off. He was pointed to a window facing South-West and quickly took a spot there. His bag was open, and a crowbar was visible hanging out. Time ticked by slowly, until suddenly the action started. A man was sprinting towards Will's window, and he could hear others coming in from every direction. Shots were being fired as the Infected got closer, howling like animals.

Will managed to get a shot off as an Infected man came up to his window, blowing the glass out onto the man. His shoulder was torn into pieces, sending blood everywhere, mainly onto William. The man pounced through the window, landing on Will and snapping its jaws. Blood dripped onto Will's face as he fumbled with the shotgun. It went off again, missing the man and blowing a hole in the wall. Will swore loudly and grabbed the crowbar in his right hand. With incredible force the curve in the crowbar slammed hard into the temple of the Infected. It crushed in the temple, hooking into the skull. Blood was everywhere by then, dark and black blood. It was all over Will's face as he pulled the crowbar out, and flipped it round in his hand.

Will rammed the point of the crowbar into the ribs of the Infected, sending more blood everywhere, and down Will's arm. Will twisted the crowbar and shoved it in deeper, blood was covering the floor now. Will rammed his head into the Infected, the sound of the jaw snapping, and it hanging off his face was the only reassurance that the Infected was dead.

Chapter Five

Jeff had been running for over an hour, yet he somehow had the energy to keep going for longer, until the sun came up it seemed. He had sawn-off the Winchester, making it considerably shorter, but less accurate. Not his wisest move. The air around him was cold, and very silent. No birds could be heard here, no animals, not even leaves were moving.

As he stopped for a break it seemed he was being chased. The sound of someone running behind him changed everything. A large man was standing at the crest of the closest hillock, in his hands were a long lead pipe. His face was covered with blood, and his eyes were a bright blue. He was the African man from before, in the cottage. It seemed he was back for more.
"Come on then mother f------!" Jeff roared, lifting the rifle to his shoulder and aiming it at the man.

He never saw it coming, something charged into him from behind, sending him to the floor in a heap. The Winchester went off as he fell, sending a bullet flying into his own shin. Blood seeped out the wound as the second attacker became visible. Another Infected stood over him, its gender was barely recognizable. The rifle went off again, tearing clean through the ribs of the second Infected, ripping bits of rib out the back of it. With a moan it fell to the ground, blood oozing from the hole in its ribs. Away behind him the African approached, holding the pipe above his head.

Jeff barely turned to see the man coming closer in time. The pipe slammed into the ground beside his head as the large man picked him up, launching him into the ground a few feet away. Jeff held the rifle in one hand and swore as he was picked up again, except this time he pressed the barrel into the back of the attackers head. With a squeeze of the trigger, the head exploded quite litterally. Brain matter and blood was thrown onto the ground as the man collapsed in a heap. Jeff wiped the blood from his hands and spat on the body.
"Mother f-----"

Chapter Six

Will was propped against the wall of the cabin, while the others stood their ground. They seemed to think he needed emotional rest, which made him want to hurt them. Sun was coming up, over the peaks of the huge trees and illuminating the cabin, sending golden rays through the windows, with shards of it bouncing off scattered grass. Gripped tightly in his hands were the Sawn-Off and the crowbar, he seemed to be attached to them, refusing to let them go. He sighed and watched out the window, there was nothing out there.

The door suddenly slammed open, and three men all jumped in. They stood in a type of circle, with their guns pointing out. Military guns, M-14 rifles, that were not seen in this area. All three started shouting commands, getting everyone to their feet. All except for William, who simply sat there against the wall.
"Get up!" Screamed one of the men, shoving the tip of his rifle into Will's shoulder.
"Get off me, right now." Will grunted, gripping the crowbar tightly in his hand and watching the man.
"Harry, watch out!" Shouted another, and as he did this the man, Harry, turned slightly. The spikes of the crowbar slammed into the base of the mans neck. Blood was everywhere very quickly, covering Will in an instant.

Two shots were fired at Will, both missing him by a lot, and as the two men got closer Will shoved the body of their fallen comrade towards them. Both parted to let the body fall past them onto the floor. William flipped up the Sawn-Off and pumped it. One of the men turned around, only to have the barrel over his face. The second man dropped to his knees, blood spraying from a gash in their throat. The only living man dropped his gun and lifted his hands.
"Who the f--- are you!" Will roared, holding the trigger.
"We're Bounty Hunters, the Military send us into these sorts of places to clean up anyone that might be infected." The man said, shaking in fear. He started to babble about being let free, and this angered Will.

Will pulled the trigger, and as the hammer pulled back and hit the chamber hard. The mans head imploded, sending brain matter, bone and skull everywhere. The walls were covered in it, and the people in the cabin. Will kicked the body down, and cleaned the barrel of the Sawn-Off.
"I'm getting out of here."

Chapter Seven

Jeff wiped a speck of blood from his cheek, only to find that his hands were covered with blood. He roared in anger and continued to kick the African man, until his boots were covered in blood, and the man had little to no spinal cord left. With a sharp kick to the elbow the arm snapped, leaving just a heap of flesh. Jeff grunted and held the rifle in his hand, while walking along the field he was, he thought about everything. It seemed impossible that everyone could be dead, and that the Military forces were not fighting. It was like everyone gave up, and just let themselves be eaten. Which was hard to believe.

Suddenly the sound of a car filled the air, and away in the distance a car was swerving down the road. Close behind it was a low flying Helicopter. Any other day Jeff would of tried to get a place in the car, but right now he ducked beneath a pile of logs. He stayed still there, aiming his small rifle towards the chopper. As the car slammed into a tree the chopper stopped, hovering over it. Four people got out and started to dash away, hollering and screaming. A sniper in the chopper picked off two within the first minute, getting the third as he got to the tree line. The fourth had completly vanished. Jeff was scared, a mighty lot, as the chopper flew over his spot. Not noticing him obviously.

Living people were shot dead, while the Infected ran amock the countryside. Something was wrong here, it was like an extinction of anyone in a certain area. It seemed like hours as Jeff stayed still, but was really only a few minutes. He slowly backed out of his hole and turned towards the closest paddock. He cleared the fence and headed straight towards the barn.

Chapter Eight

Will was once again in his truck, yet this time he was seated in the passener seat, with no window behind him and a pair of new people in the the truck. The boy whom had held the rifle in the cabin was sat in the bed, looking around the empty road with a look of misery. While the girl with the machete was in the drivers seat, driving. Will sighed and looked out at the empty road as it started to get fully light. Now, this truck would be a loud, moving target with flesh inside. And he knew that the Infected would soon find them.

It was about lunchtime when they were found. But not only by Infected. They were on a single main road, with paddocks surrounding them. The Infected were suddenly on the road, running from the sides and behind. As they sped up a pair of dirt bikes came up the road from behind. On the backs were Bounty Hunters, getting too close for comfort. William had no problem killing one of them, yet the boy was struggling to shoot anything. As a bike came up on the left, and a Glock was pointed through at the window, Will lifted his Sawn-Off and pulled the trigger. Nothing happened.
"F---! Swerve!" Will roared as the Glock went off. The bullet tore right through the glass, and barely missed Will. Sadly the lady was hit, in the side of the head. Blood and brain matter was tossed against her window.
"Kid! Jump out!"

Will kicked open the door and snatched up his crowbar and the machete. The bikers stared at him with confused faces, and were caught out when he threw himself from the car and onto a paddock. The boy landed close beside him. The truck screeched and rolled over a few times, exploding like a movie, and as this happened the Infected completely forgot about the two survivors.
"Kid, run towards that." Will hissed, pointing towards a lake.

Chapter Nine

Jeff stared at the body, and swore as the hillock before him turned into a moving swarm of Infected. Easily over fifty of them were running at him, howling and screeching as they did this. Jeff swore and flipped up the Winchester, loosing a few shots into the legs of them. They were coming closer and closer by the minute, and he was having to back away towards the river. He lifted the Winchester to his shoulder and aimed at the closest. He fired and grunted as it slid to the ground, blood splashing on the grass. Another was quickly over it, jumping at Jeff. It was blown out of the air, and hit another behind it.

Two of the Infected were on Jeff in an instant, one being smashed in the face with the stock. The second behind shot clean through the face. As the rifle clicked empty, and the swarm got neared Jeff realized what needed to be done. He fished through his pocket and pulled out a single shell. He fumbled with his rifle and loaded the shell into it. He was thrown to the ground and as he was, while the Infected tore into his legs. Blood was everywhere, and he was screaming in pain. He stuck the barrel of the rifle into his mouth, and held onto the trigger.

As a set of teeth sank into his shoulder, he tightened on the trigger. The hammer clicked back, and then forward. The shell exploded in his mouth, the whole bottom of his head was blown up in a torrent of blood and bone. The top of his head, covered in blood simply rolled off his body. As the Infected finished with him and stepped away little to nothing was left.

Chapter 10

Will and the boy stood on the edge of a dock, fumbling with a rope and trying to get the boat off it. Will looked out towards the road. Infected were heading towards them, not overly fast.
"Kid, get in the boat." Will ordered, gripping the crowbar tightly he took a few practise swings. An Infected approached fast, and as it got in range Will knocked its head clean off the neck. He turned and ran at the boat as it went out into the water. He jumped and landed in it, looking over at the kid and smiling.
"We made it." He hissed.
