J, you should introduce The Ancient Rings to this forum. Then you'd have like two going on at the same time...X3 | |

| Telain looked out in the horizon from his tent on the hill. He could see smoke from the fires being burned, he could see the field medics carrying the wounded men, most of them dead, toward the main field hospital tent.
Telain shook his head, cursing silently.
It had been this way for about three days now, ever since they had emptied their forces from all of their major cities, and moved them to the Fields of Karnae to face the Hersanians.
Almost twenty thousand soldiers, and already three thousand dead. The Hersanians, however, still had twenty eight thousand of their twenty nine. They had barely lost any soldiers, while Somay suffered casualties by the minute.
"Captain, report," ordered Telain as he turned around, walking back into his tent. He found four Captains, three Generals and the King himself gathered around a large table.
A tall captain, strong and sturdy, stepped forward, his helmet in his arms. "Sir, the reinforcements are still far from here, however they're cut off. The Hersanians have somehow managed to make a strong blockade reinforced with magic, blocking our troops. Sir, if they don't break down that blockade soon, the Hersanians will overrun us. I say we have two days, maybe three," the Captain reported, whose name was Beoran.
General Telain looked grave. As commander of the Royal Forces of Somay, he should of been the best. Here he was now, being defeated by an army that relied on brute strength and numbers instead of skill and efficiency. Telain shook his head once more.
"General Taracan, report," barked Telain out of his anger.
The General almost jumped at the barked order, but then stood straighter. "The Thirty Fourth Archers are receiving heavy casualties from their catapults, and the Eight Shields are destroyed, the Ninth Calvary routed off to the west. Sir, without calvary, we're finished. Gone. Destroyed," the General said.
Telain gave him a cold look, and then said, "Thank you, Taracan, for such lovely words."
